What a Rolling Tire Looks Like From the Inside of a Rim

You might not think about your tires very much when you drive, but really, they're the most important piece of equipment on your car. This unique video gives us some insight into why that is.

Following a suggestion from a viewer, the Warped Perception YouTube channel decided to find out what the inside of a tire might look like while mounted to a car on the move. The host manages to mount a GoPro onto the barrel of the wheel, connecting an aftermarket light and battery so we can see what happens inside.

Things get a bit more chaotic as the car moves faster. The tire begins to shift and deform, and the sounds get louder. It's only when the driver takes a hard left turn that the tire actually makes contact with the GoPro, altering its viewing angle. We're surprised the centrifugal forces didn't fling the GoPro off of its mounting point at any point, considering how unbalanced it must've made the wheel.
